Team Collaboration

A farm can include an Owner, Editors, and Readers. The Owner manages invitations and removals.

Roles

Owner

The Owner can manage farm data, invites, and member access.

Editor

An Editor can create and change animals, groups, records, and conversations for the farm.

Reader

A Reader can view farm information but cannot create or change it.

Invite a member

  1. Open More → Team.
  2. Choose Invite Member.
  3. Select Editor or Reader.
  4. Choose Create Invite.
  5. Send the generated invite link directly to the intended person.

Invite links expire. Do not post them publicly. The Owner can revoke a pending invite from the Team page.

Join an invited farm

  1. Open the invitation link the Owner shared with you.
  2. Sign in with your own phone number and the SMS code. If your account needs a name, add it to finish setup. Ranch.Bot keeps the invitation while you sign in; you do not need to create another farm or start a separate plan to accept it.
  3. Review the farm name, your assigned role, and what that role permits. Check the signed-in name and phone number. Choose Change account if you need to sign in as someone else.
  4. Choose Join farm when the details are right. Opening the link alone does not join the farm.
  5. Wait for You've joined [farm], then choose Open farm records. Open a saved record to check that you are in the right farm. The Owner can see your name and role in Team.

Ranch.Bot confirms your membership and access to the farm's records before showing joined success. An Editor can create and change farm records. A Reader can view them but cannot create, change, or confirm changes. Joining does not turn on Text-in; each person needs their own supported Text-in setup.

If you already belong to the farm, choose Open farm records. Reopening an invitation does not add a duplicate membership or change your existing role.

If joining does not finish

  • Invalid, expired, or revoked link: ask the Owner for another invitation link.
  • Connection interrupted: Ranch.Bot checks whether you joined before asking you to try again. If it cannot confirm the result, reconnect and choose Check membership. A failed response alone does not mean that joining failed.
  • Membership or records cannot be confirmed: choose Check membership when your connection is available. If the problem continues, ask the Owner to check your membership and the farm's plan or seat limit.

Remove access

The Owner can remove an Editor or Reader from the Team page. Ranch.Bot asks for confirmation before removing the member. Their access ends, while existing farm records remain.

Plan shape

Team includes three people. Additional people are billed as seats on the same subscription up to eight total. Operations with more than eight people use Crew and work directly with Ranch.Bot. Current amounts live on the pricing page.

Common questions

Can an Editor invite someone?

No. Invite management is Owner-only.

Can a Reader confirm an assistant write?

No. Reader access is view-only.

Does removing a member delete their records?

No. Farm records remain with the farm.
