Manage or Cancel Your Subscription
Review your plan, open the billing portal, and confirm the resulting status and date. Billing is per account; farm records and export access follow farm membership, not the subscription alone.
What you'll accomplish
See which plan you are on, what happens next and when, and manage payment or cancellation in the Stripe billing portal. You finish with the resulting plan state visible in Ranch.Bot, not just a return from the portal.
Before you start
- The account that holds the subscription, signed in on the web.
- A data connection to read the plan and open the portal.
- A payment card on file for an active or trial plan.
- Current farm access if you also need to export records.
Steps
1. Open billing
- Open More.
- Choose Billing under Account & help.
- On desktop, you can also select your name and plan at the bottom-left of the rail, then choose Billing.
The Subscription panel shows the current plan, its status, and the next date that matters: renewal, trial end, or the end date after a cancellation. Current prices are only on the pricing page.
2. Manage payment or cancel
- Choose Manage billing.
- In the Stripe billing portal, update the payment method, download invoices, or cancel the plan.
- Return to Ranch.Bot.
- Check the Subscription panel again.
A return from the portal is not confirmation that a billing change finished. The plan state and date shown in Ranch.Bot are the confirmation.
3. Confirm the resulting state
- Trial shows the trial end date. Cancel before that date and you pay nothing.
- Active shows the renewal date and billing interval.
- Ending means a cancellation is scheduled. The plan stays active until the displayed end date.
- Past due means the last payment failed. Update the payment method in Manage billing.
- Ended means the subscription is over. Pick a plan starts again.
How you know it worked
- The Subscription panel shows the new status and the relevant date.
- A scheduled cancellation shows Ending and an end date, not an immediate loss of access.
- After the end date, the panel shows the plan has ended.
- You can still download farm records while you have farm access, including after cancelling. See Download your farm records.
After cancelling, what you can view or change in the farm still follows your farm role. Restarting a plan does not process texts that were blocked while it was inactive. Follow Ranch.Bot's reply to that text, or send the note again.
If something goes wrong
The portal still shows the old state. Return to Ranch.Bot and reload the Subscription panel. A billing change can take a moment to reach Ranch.Bot after you leave the portal. After a successful checkout the panel keeps checking until the plan appears; after other portal changes, reload it.
The plan does not appear after checkout. The page shows Back from checkout and keeps checking the plan while it is open. If it still shows no plan after a minute, reload the page. Do not start another checkout. If the plan still does not appear, email support@ranch.bot.
The payment failed. The panel shows Past due. Update the payment method in Manage billing to keep the plan.
The plan ended but I still need the records. Download a farm archive while you have farm access. Exporting does not delete the Cloud data. See Download your farm records.
I cannot open Billing. Billing is available from More → Billing and from the identity control on desktop. Local installations show Local and do not have cloud Billing. If the farm invitation is the only thing you need, see Invite someone to your farm.
