Farm Management

A farm scopes its own animals, groups, records, conversations, memory, team access, and subscription context.

Create the first farm

After phone sign-in and Stripe Checkout, onboarding asks for:

• a farm name; and
• the closest species: cattle, sheep, goats, bison, or other.

This is the short web setup required before Text-in can route a note to the right operation.

Switch farms

If the account has access to more than one farm, use the farm selector in the app navigation. Check the selected farm before confirming a proposed write.

Text-in routes through the account's active farm context. A multi-farm user should read the farm name in the SMS reply and dashboard proposal before confirming.

Farm access

A farm has three roles:

• Owner - manages access and the operation;
• Editor - creates and changes farm data; and
• Reader - views farm data without write access.

Farm data

Within a farm, Ranch.Bot keeps:

• animals and identifiers;
• groups;
• records and record items;
• conversations and proposed writes;
• files;
• recent change history; and
• Farm Memory.

Tools → Export downloads the current farm as JSON or simplified CSV. See Data Export.

Need a farm changed or removed?

Some account-level changes are support-assisted. Email support@ranch.bot with the farm name and requested change. Do not send private farm records by email unless Ranch.Bot asks for them through an approved channel.
