Fast Entry

The current field-entry path is Text-in. Complete a short web setup once, then send notes from the registered phone and review proposed records in the web dashboard.

Text-in from the field

Use Text-in when a phone can send an SMS but opening the dashboard would interrupt the work:

  1. Enable Text-in under Settings → Account.
  2. Text the shared number from the registered phone.
  3. Ranch.Bot replies and adds the note to the farm conversation.
  4. Review, correct, and confirm the proposal in the web dashboard.

Text-in requires cellular SMS service. It is not offline capture. Texted photos are stored for the account, but are not currently shown in the conversation or extracted into structured records.

Full setup: Getting Started.

Web Quick Entry and Conversations

Use Quick Entry or a Conversation when the dashboard is already open. Type or dictate a plain-language note. Ranch.Bot prepares any write as a proposal and waits for confirmation.

Use the structured Records → New Record form when you already know each field and do not need the assistant to interpret the note.

Chute Mode and Feed Mode

Chute Mode and Feed Mode exist as preview code but are not enabled for standard customer accounts today. Do not plan a working-day or feeding process around either preview.

Keyboard-mode readers

A reader that operates as a Bluetooth keyboard can type an identifier into whichever web field has focus. Ranch.Bot does not certify reader brands or models. Check for keyboard or HID mode, confirm the reader supports the tags you use, and test with those tags before a working day.

This is keyboard input behavior, not a certified hardware integration.
