Livestock records that fit the work

Ranch.Bot helps beef, bison, goat, lamb, and other producers keep records in plain language and find them when they need them.

It’s built by Jerremy Lewis, a livestock producer and software developer. He currently focuses on lamb production and has previous beef production experience. He raises sheep with his wife in Northern Alberta. Keeping useful records is part of their farm work, too.

Their farm, and the reason for Ranch.Bot

Jerremy and Josée bought their farm together and have built the operation steadily, with help from friends and family.

Keeping a spreadsheet was manageable. Finding the right information later was harder. When was that ewe treated? Which group moved to that pasture? Answering meant going back through records and filling in details from memory.

Ranch.Bot grew out of wanting those answers to be easier to find.

Years spent working on livestock records

Jerremy began talking with producers about record keeping in 2020 and released Grassland.app in 2022. That earlier app has since been retired.

Ranch.Bot brings that experience together with more than five years building software for agriculture and the daily work of raising sheep.

Keep the details while they’re fresh

After a short web setup and enabling Text-in, you can text a livestock note from the field. Check it in the web dashboard before saving.

Later, look up the animal’s history when a question comes up. The aim is simple: spend less time entering records and searching for something you know you wrote down.
