How Ranch.Bot works today
Text a livestock note
Complete a short web setup and enable Text-in for your registered phone. Then text a note, such as “Moved the ewe lambs to North 40.” Cellular SMS service is required.
Review before saving
Ranch.Bot turns your note into a draft record in the web dashboard. Check the details, make corrections, or reject it. The record only saves when you confirm.
Find your records later
Look up an animal's history or use the inventory and movement report.

The story so far
What happened to Grassland?
The work began in 2020 with conversations about how producers keep livestock records. Grassland.app launched on iOS and Android in 2022 through BetterCalves Ltd., the company behind that earlier app. A few producers tried it, but regular use stayed limited and it earned no revenue.
Another agriculture-software role and a newly purchased farm left the developer with too little time to support Grassland properly, so he retired it.

Why rebuild now?
The developer now has more than five years of experience building agriculture software and runs an established commercial sheep operation. Ranch.Bot has his full-time focus.
